African Threading On Natural Hair

 Hello Ladies


I know everyone will be wondering how I always get my hair stretched without using heat. We all know how kinky hair shrinks with no mercy, and how difficult it can be to comb through, and sometimes most of the styles I always want, requires my hair to be stretched,Using heart always on my hair can cause a whole lot of damage if not well prepared, I am not against using heat on your hair, personally I love to get my hair stretched the African way, called "threading". Below is the picture of an African thread. and if you really want to use heat on your hair trying apply heat protector.

But there are different types of thread that people use, for me I prefer the rubber thread which I use even while i still had my relaxed hair.

The picture above is what I always use to stretch my hair, and it works better for me and again it is stretchable, feels like rubber, also smooth, easy to work with. I have been using that right from when I was a child.


I am not sure what this particular type is called, but it is as popular as the rubber thread, I know for sure it is popular used by the Yoruba people here in Nigeria ,never used this type though but I have seen lots of my friends use it and it always gives them the stretch they want.

This is the one popular used by most people, whenever I watch YouTube videos, the sowing thread is what I see them use, but I have never seen anyone use it here in Nigeria to thread their hair. Maybe someone might have used it but I am not sure I know anyone who has used that on their hair, but it always works good for them and it stretches their well just as the rubber thread does for me.


 


When I used the rubber thread for my hair this was the results, I am so much in love with it, personally I prefer the stretchy soft rubber thread, works well with my hair and the results I got was just fabulous, people kept asking me if I used heat and whenever I tell them the simple way in which I got my hair looking that, they look surprised and the suprise look is what i love, and they are like “OMG I never knew you could use rubber thread  to stretch your hair” people think using thread is only meant to make your hair long, that was the idea before “thread makes your hair long” but I guess things change,
